What we do

Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Family Support Trust exists to provide financial and other support services to all serving and retired members of Strathclyde Fire and Rescue and their families who may require assistance.

In a typical year the Family Support Trust will distribute grants to a value of between fifty and sixty thousand pounds (around 80 - 90% of donated funds).This includes bereavement grants and hardship grants. In December, our registered beneficiaries receive a christmas grant.

Social activities are also arranged for registered beneficiaries.

On the death of a member of the service (or that member's spouse or partner), financial provision is also made for any dependant children under the age of eighteen in the form of an Investment Trust Bond which will appreciate in value and provide a lump sum payment on the child’s 18th birthday.

We aim to ensure that support to our beneficiaries is delivered in a prompt, sensitive and confidential manner.
