New Chairperson for FST
Family Support Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of ACO Graham Haugh as the new Chairperson of the Charity. Mr Haugh takes over from ACO John Walker, who has been a Trustee and Office Bearer with Family Support Trust (formerly Strathclyde Widows and Orphans Fund) for the past 14 years and Chairperson since 2007.
Mr Walker will retire from SFR in autumn this year, with 31 years distinguished service.
At the AGM on the 9th Feb 2010, Mr Haugh accepted his appointment and said that he felt extremely honoured to have been approached to take on this important role and looked forward to his involvement with the Charity, over the next 3 years.
He expressed his commitment to ensure that Family Support Trust would continue to deliver the best possible services for all potential beneficiaries; current and retired SFR colleagues and their families.
Mr Haugh paid particular tribute to the dedication and excellent work of outgoing Chair, John Walker and thanked fellow Trustees for their support.
He acknowledged the challenges ahead and said he was pleased to take over the post at this significant time in the Charity’s development.
Mr Haugh also welcomed the opportunities presented by the forthcoming Strategic Review and the benefits of additional support provided by the recent appointment of the Charity Operations Officer, to help take Family Support Trust forward into the next decade.
